Heliski in the Swedish Arctic – Lapland

The Swedish Lapland, or the land of the midnight Sun, also know as Europe’s last wilderness offers some fantastic opportunities for unforgettable heli skiing. This great arctic landscape provides us with great variety of skiing in its dramatic and enchanting environment. With more then hundred peaks, all covered in snow, and no regulations, you can almost land anywhere for some magnificent ski runs.

The heli ski area extends around Riksgränsen, the Abisko Alps and the glaciated alpine region of Kebnekaise. The summits are not particularly high compared to the Alps, but the runs are surprisingly long, with an average around 800 vertical meters and up to 1400 verical meters, on big open slopes, long glaciers and some steep interesting terrain. Regardless of what you choose, you will for sure experience some unique skiing.

The operations take place in a place called Riksgränsen, located 200 km north of the polar circle, and the heli ski area extends about 300 km from east to west and some 200 km from north to south. That makes about 60 000 square km, with more then a hundred peaks, all covered in snow, one of the largest wilderness area in Europe. You can almost land anywhere and offers some magnificent ski runs.

Prerequisite skills
In general this is a pure off-piste product for people who have previous experience from backcountry skiing. For those in the beginning of their off-piste career we can arrange some special introduction during which all basic skills are trained from the scratch. Of course if you feel you lack some of those experiences or uncertain of your own level, please feel free to contact us. We will do our best to give you the best experience possible.

The heliski season starts mid March and finishes end of May. The midnight sun season is from mid May and on.
